Mohave County is not uniform. A hillside lot above the lake, a flat parcel out in Desert Hills and a riverfront place on the Parker Strip each produce a different problem.

Lake Havasu City, the slopes

The older terraced neighbourhoods above the lake are the classic case: cut-and-fill lots, long retaining walls, exposed rock a few feet behind the house. Highest pressure in the county, and the treatment has to target the cut face and the wall bases rather than the lawn.

Lake Havasu City, the flats

Newer subdivisions on flatter ground north and south of the centre. Tighter houses, fewer retaining walls, but raw desert at the edge of the development supplying a steady stream. Exclusion matters more than volume of product here.

Desert Hills

Larger parcels, more outbuildings, more stored equipment, and native desert right up to the house. Everything that applies on a hillside applies here too, plus the storage: a stack of pallets or a boat on a trailer is a colony.

The Parker Strip and riverfront

Riverside vegetation and constant moisture support the insects scorpions eat, so pressure is higher than the dry ground behind. Seasonal occupancy is heavy, which brings the empty-house problem with it. Covered separately.

Bullhead City and Fort Mohave

An hour north, same desert, same bark scorpion. Service runs are less frequent, so scheduling a couple of days ahead is worth doing rather than expecting same-day.
